Corporate Counsel at KELLER (DMV)
Erin K. Cannon is a practicing attorney in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. She has worked as a civil engineer in the construction industry, an associate attorney in biglaw and as an in-house attorney in the manufacturing industry. As such, she is all too familiar with the lack of diversity that has plagued the legal profession.
Erin is no stranger to giving back, as she has served: her community through fostering homeless animals; area youth as a mentor, Big Sister, and tutor; and her peers and colleagues through board membership on several Chicago-area bar associations and serving as a resource for current law students. Erin is a past board member of the Black Womens’ Lawyers Association of Greater Chicago, Inc., for which she served as treasurer during the National Summit of Black Women Lawyers and taught writing during the pilot year of the pipeline program. She was also recognized as one of the forty Illinois attorneys to watch in 2015 by Chicago Lawyer and the Law Bulletin Publishing Company.
Erin was born and raised in the Washington, DC area and has spent the larger part of her professional career in Dallas, Texas and Chicago, Illinois. Erin obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Delaware, her Master’s degree at The University of Texas at Austin, and her law degree at Howard University School of Law. It is Erin’s love for education that has pushed her to continually reach back to women of color seeking to enter the corporate world.
