Tiffany R. Harper is a practicing attorney with a passion for mentoring, encouraging, and developing the next generation of diverse attorneys. In addition to being a co-founder and co-creator of DAPP, Tiffany strongly believes that empowering and preparing diverse attorneys to conquer big law is critical to solving the legal profession’s long-standing diversity and inclusion issues. In this vein, Tiffany is committed to mentoring, coaching, an empowering DAPP scholars and other diverse law students and attorneys. Tiffany’s very first mentee, who she mentored through college and law school, recently graduated from Harvard Law School and works as an associate at an AmLaw 100 firm.
Tiffany is also a leader within other diversity organizations and minority bar associations. She is the co-founder of Uncolorblind, a diversity blog and enterprise dedicated to identifying and addressing diversity and inclusion issues in corporate America, and is a frequent presenter and author on topics related to hiring, promoting and retaining diverse attorneys in big law. Tiffany is a Past President of the Black Women Lawyers’ Association of Greater Chicago, Inc. (BWLA), and served as the conference co-chair for BWLA’s highly successful 2015 National Summit of Black Women Lawyers. Tiffany has been recognized for her service and commitment to BWLA and diversity in the legal profession, receiving the President’s Award in 2011, the Rising Star Award in 2012, the Distinguished Service Award in 2013, and the Visionary Award in 2015.
Professionally, Tiffany is Associate Counsel at Grant Thornton LLP, a top accounting firm, and has been recognized as a 2015 and 2016 Rising Star by Illinois Super Lawyers, a top attorney in corporate bankruptcy and restructuring by the Top 100 Black Lawyers, one of the National Bar Association’s 40 Under 40 Nation’s Best Advocates in 2015, a 40 Under 40 Illinois Attorneys Under Forty to Watch in 2015 by Chicago Lawyer and Law Bulletin Publishing Company, and was named to the inaugural “Hot List” by Lawyers of Color, LLC.
Tiffany received her undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College, with honors, and her Juris Doctorate degree from Washington University in St. Louis.
