Brittany Barrientos

Partner at Stinson Leonard Street (Kansas City)

Brittany Barrientos is a partner at Stinson Leonard Street where her environmental practice includes advising clients regarding environmental regulatory requirements arising under the Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, hazardous waste laws and Superfund law, as well as state environmental laws and regulations. Brittany’s practice also includes defense of agency enforcement actions, including working with clients and agencies to develop and implement environmentally beneficial Supplemental Environmental Projects. She also regularly reviews and assists clients with comments on state and federal rulemakings. She includes time in her practice to provide education to clients regarding regulatory requirements and strategies for compliance with environmental laws. Brittany has worked extensively with the chemical industry, electric generating utilities, and municipalities.

Brittany grew up in a small town outside of Austin. She received her Bachelors Degree in journalism from Texas Tech University and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri School of Law. I went to Texas Tech University, where I wrote and was an editor for the school newspaper while getting my degree in journalism.

Brittany enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, whom she likes to teach about community involvement. She has been inspired by a lot of people through her legal journey. Lately, she’s finding motivation and strength from strong women who have found their voices.
